I Am Legend - Warner Bros.
By: Dave Darr
Based in New York City several years in the future, Will Smith plays the roll as the last man in NYC and one of the few survivors left on the whole planet. I Am Legend is a post-apocalyptic zombie horror film that has the average storyline, a governmental zombie virus broke out in the air infecting nearly the entire planet. The storyline originated from a 1954 novel written by Richard Matheson.
The setting and production work for this film was outstanding, just imagine New York City abandoned.  It takes about 15-20 minutes into the film to figure out there are some serious zombie mutants involved.  The build-up was on the money, but the CGI of the zombies was a strike-out; it totally looked fake.  Other than that, everything else was good and the movie ends on sort of a lighter note.
There is actually a lot of spiritual relevance in the film, where Will Smith almost plays the role as Jesus (the savior).

Impending Doom - Silence The Opressors Music Video - Facedown Records
By: Charles Ray Hastings
At first glance, Impending Doom's video for "Silence The Opressors" comes off as a tip of the hat to comercial alt-metal angst, but if you left it at that you'd only
be deceiving yourself. As the sound of abrasive texture pulls you in further and
further, a keen observer would brush off first impressions to fully appreciate the
video. It's an amazing visual interpretation of the lyrics and emotions that
contrive this song. The video pummels the veiwer with one caustic image after the other, leaving you mostly wondering, " Why are these guys so angry?" The answer is pretty simple,a reaction to ignorance and envy. The organization of youth groups and young christian bands' ministry have been a wonderful tool to the collective cause of the christian community, but in vain of their hardwork, they still feel a resistance from our elders. The dischord felt in the soul when confrontation erupts within your own fellowship is one of the most despondent feelings a man can experience. It only makes sense to the youth involved with this worship to reflect the dischordant feelings and animosity in their art and ministry. The gritty shots shown in the band's performance in this video is just a still-frame of the hostility between those on the rize and those in power. We all have certain unwritten rules handed down to us as up and coming christian minds... Impending Doom isn't the first to answer back at the generation lost in today's rizing revolution, but they are paving a much wider path for those to follow.

Reliance Skateboards - Identity Theft DVD
4 / 5 POINTS
Straight from the biggest name in Christian skateboarding, Reliance put out their debut DVD earlier this year.  Perhaps a long time in the making, the company has been around for over 5 years and at some point they teamed up with Stephen Baldwin's Livin' It Ministries, which put them on the map!  The DVD features most of the current team, including their star riders Luke Braddock, Elijah Moore, and Josh Kasper.  The footage has been collected over a 2 year span and contains a lot of amazing shots from all over the world.  This DVD is for sure worth checking out.

28 Weeks Later - Fox Atomic films
3.5 / 5 POINTS
Over the summer the British-made zombie film, 28 Days Later, followed-up with their sequal, 28 Weeks Later.  Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the movie catches up where 28 Days left off-just when you thought it was over and all was well in the world, the disease that causes Zombieism (for the lack of a better term) returns at a stronger degree.

London still shut down, the government allows a small group of people to return to try and start their lives off again while the city is being cleaned up from the previous outbreak.  It was more or less the government using the people as test-dummies to see if they would make it.  As you can imagine, it did'nt work.  After bringing a zombie-infected women to the city's government hosital to run tests, she manages to infect her husband, who then infects a British soldier, and well.... you get the idea.  Eventually you have people running for their lives, blood splattering everywhere, and one heck of a thrilling film.

The one new aspect was the fact that a zombie infected mother who came across her son remembered her old-self and managed not to eat him.  This opens the door to a new-hope for the infection and what could possibly be a third film.  During this Halloween season, I suggest you rent this for a night of thrilling fun!
